A Paint or dye applied to the beads. This is an impermanent color coating, which can fade with exposure to sunlight and may rub off when handled.

Luminous
Luminous beads have an iridescent shine. These beads are rich, shiny, with a very high gloss.
MAT
Matte
The outside surface of the bead is etched on a microscopic level to produce a matt dull, or frosty finish.
MET
Metallic
A shiny, reflective coating on the outside of a bead that gives it the appearance of being made of metal.
NCKL
Nickel
Nickel plating applied to the outside of the beads.
OP
Opaque
The bead is made from a solid color that prevents light from passing through it.
OPAL
Opal
Opal beads have a milky, semi-translucent finish.
PICASSO
Picasso
A spotty or speckled coating on the outside of beads. The spotty coating colors can vary from a light yellows to dark browns and cover base colors of beads giving more earthy color variations.
PLDM
Palladium
A charcoal-gray precious metal coating applied to the bead. Palladium is a cousin of platinum.
PRL
Pearl
An alabaster white bead coating with a nitro-cellulose lacquer and pearl pigment applied to the bead to give an iridescent ‘pearl’ effect.

Silver Lined
The inside of the bead is lined with a silver coating.
SILK
Silk (Satin)
Beads with a silk finish have a satin striated look.

Semi-Matte
A slightly etched bead surface that produces a silky finish.
SP
Silver Plated
A silver coating reflecting a gold silver applied to the bead.
STRL
Sterling Silver Plated
A bright coating of sterling silver applied to the bead.
TR
Transparent
The glass of the bead is see-through.

White Inside Dyed / Lined
Inside coating or lining of a bead with a white color.
