Digital Planning at Beading Treasures

So what is Digital Planning for Beading?
It is something completely new, something I created here at Beading Treasures, that I personally use to help make the beading process more enjoyable. Digital planning in essence is using a planner in the form of a PDF file in conjunction with an annotation or markup app. Once I started digital planning, I saw so many applications and benefits for beading that I have now developed several kinds of digital planning products that I knew I had to share with all beaders. Don’t have an iPad? You can still use our digital planners on your Macbook and Mac. There are also some windows and android apps you can use. You can find out more here.

How Digital Beading Planning Started

I was searching for a way to keep all of my beading information organized, I really hated having separate excel files and having to waste time searching for details I know I have recorded somewhere. It was getting really frustrating for me.

Being an organized person I have always had a planner either a traditional paper planner or a planner app on my devices and I wanted something similar, tailored to beading, that would provide structure to my beading data and help me get organized and stay that way.

So after I created my first digital planner and saw how useful it is, I started creating more planners each with a specific function and now there is a suite of them. And I know there will be more coming as the need for it arrives.

I’ve benefited so much from digital beading planning, that I felt that I should share my digital planners with others who are struggling as I once did. So I have made them available for purchase from the shop.

Beading Planner

For all types of Beads

The Beading Planner was born of the need to keep all my beading things organized. I just needed to keep track of what I have, and where it is.
This planner is extensive.
It has everything that any beader would need to stay organized and keep track of things.
Much research was done to include whatever a beader may need to keep track of to eliminate the need of having to purchase any add-ons and inserts later. So they are packed with value.
The Beading Planner caters to beaders who use all kinds of beads. You will be able to track them all.
Here is the table of contents, which I have called Quick Links. It gives you an idea of all the categories in the planner as well as the different planner pages that you can use. Bear in mind that you can duplicate the pages within the planner as well as the planner itself, as many times as you need.

This Beading is the only digital planner specifically designed with the beader in mind.
As you can see, it is designed to keep track of all of your beading supplies and materials!

It includes everything you need to keep your beading information organized and together in one place.

It is comprised of a total of 139 pages and 62 distinct layouts, the planner has a variety of pages that can be used for listing projects, tracking inventory, and more.
It also has 12 sections (tabs on the side) for you to label as you wish for your own projects and extra pages to add wherever you want!

Delica Beading Planner

Specifically for Delica 11/0 Beads

This digital planner includes everything that is in the beading planner, but it is tailored only to Delica 11/0 beads. As such all the other beads have been omitted and special sections for all Delica 11/0 beads have been added.

• Delica 11/0 Color Modification Journal layouts.

Printable Beading Planner

Not ready to go digital or simply don’t like it?
Don’t like to use tech?

We have you covered. We have a traditional version of our Beading Planner, designed so that the pages are in portrait layout allowing you to physically print it and put it into a binder or folder of your choice.

Using it as a planner is still possible but less enjoyable as there are no links to take you where you need to go and is not searchable. However, this planner also features an extensive table of contents. Using this table of contents you can add your own tabs, to allow you to quickly navigate your way through the planner.

Don’t let tech keep you from being organized and enjoying the beading process more.

Pattern Planner

If you have loads of patterns as I do, or you are a pattern designer as I am, you know that they can be difficult to keep track of.
No matter how careful you are about placing them in the right folder, whether digital or printed. Meticulous naming conventions help but even that does not eliminate the chance of duplicate patterns, which can be seriously annoying (and a waste of money you could have spent on supplies) if you are purchasing them.
Therefore, I have designed a Digital Pattern Planner that is available in portrait and landscape orientations in one package for download.
Using the Pattern Planner, your patterns will be easily accessible, and searchable and eliminate the purchase of duplicates.

The pattern planner is designed in such a way that you can organize your patterns in 20 different categories that you can assign your own labels. Each of these 20 categories can be easily accessed via the numbered tabs on the right.

Furthermore, each one of the 20 categories has 22 placeholders for patterns that you can also label as you wish.

That’s 440 patterns in the one pattern planner, considering that the pattern planner comes in both landscape and portrait orientation, which gives you a total of 880 patterns. I know you are thinking… but I have more than 880 patterns. Well, you can make as many copies of your Pattern Planners as you wish! And then back them up to keep them safe! You can keep your planners on the cloud and that way they will be with you wherever you go. They come in especially handy at your local bead store.
Organized, accessible, searchable & transportable…. Amazing right?

Setting up for Beading Planner

Getting ready to weave larger bead tapestries is naturally more complicated than weaving smaller ones. This planner will help you with the organization process of setting up your beading mat or beading tray and more.

Digital Line Guides [DLGs]

What are they?
Digital Line Guides or DLGs are digital options for rulers or magnetic strips but with a small window, allowing only the line you are working on in your pattern to show. This helps you to keep your place and stay on track as we load beads onto the weft thread.

What makes them better?

• They can be used with any PDF annotation app that allows the importing of images.
• They are essentially PNG image files that you can position anywhere on your pattern to keep track of your beading progress.
• They can be easily resized according to the pattern you are using!
• You need not purchase a digital planner in order for the Line Guide to work.
• They are available for purchase only from our shop. 
• You need only to purchase the line guide once and you can copy it and use it as many times as you like and add it to any pattern you wish.
• They can also be transparent, my favorite, allowing the previous lines to show through.
• Digital Line Guides can also be used to make Printable Line Guides

Opaque DLGs

The Opaque Digital Line Guide helps with line-by-line reading.

Added Bonus: Placed on a page, it obstructs the other lines and concentrates the field of vision on a single line.
Dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, and chronic migraines, are disorders that can make reading difficult and tiring.
Even worse, they can heavily discourage reading and learning.  These same line guides can be used as rulers with any PDF file and annotation app to help with reading!

When using the Opaque Line Guide, the reader will have less difficulty with linear reading.

Transparent DLGs

The Transparent line guides are less opaque, creating a see-through effect so that you can see the pattern line you have worked on just before. In certain kinds of beading this feature is very useful to check your work as you go.

Printable Line Guide

Let’s face it, some of us may not be ready to make the leap to working from a pattern on a device, and most of us have a stash of printed patterns that we are planning to use. Using a line guide makes for easier pattern reading and so more enjoyable beading.  If u are planning to go both digital and work from printed patterns, then choose the digital line guides as you can still make physical line guides from them!

So why go with Printable Line Guide?

• Your Line Guide can be customized to the required size for the pattern you are using.
• Your eyes will always know where to look as you progress with your beading from the pattern.
• No more straining to see the next beading step.  It will be evident in the line guide gap.
• Your line guide will always keep track of where you left off.
• Can be made magnetic by attaching magnetic sheets to the back.

Page Inserts & Widgets

Page inserts and widgets are a wonderful and cheap way to further add functionality to your digital planners.
This is how we will make new additions to your Beading Planners.
You will still have the full functionality of your planner, and only add new inserts and widgets if and when you need them! Inserts are designed to cover a whole page while widgets serve as section stickers. Check the treasury, you may find what you need there!
